Problem advise

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

Problem advise

Post by cardiff996 » Sat Dec 31, 2011 4:49 pm

Hi,

Bongo is currently out of action - Diesel 2.5 - R - Reg.

Its currently being fixed at the garage but having trouble. There is no fuel going to the injectors? Fuel lines have been checked and Solenoids for the fuel pump have been changed.

No luck as yet, and they plan to connect it up to a lap top to fault find.

Anyone else had similar problems or any suggestions?? Just before it finally broke down it was not revving past 2K RPM, but engine would start etc.

Cheers as always gang

Assuming the fuel filter has been changed, have they checked the banjo strainer/filter?

Yea yea I know, she has to tell you cos you can't even remember ha ha. My problem is the same as my AFT: my mechanic says I should raise it regularly, or it might seize up from lack of use and let me down when I need it to work. :-(

Hi
Thanks for info.
Cleaned and replaced the filters myself before it went into the garage.
I dont think it has gone into any safe mode as it didnt start at all, and there is no fuel feed at all to the injectors.

I know this may seem like a daft question, but are you 100% sure there is plenty of fresh fuel in the tank? Bongo fuel senders are notoriously unreliable....

just a usefull tip i spent ages on mine , till i found there is a filter in the deasel pump
if you take of inlet pipe and make a fine hook put this down hole and you will find a spring under this is the smallest thimble filter if blocked it will cause lack of fuel or if partly blocked will cause stuter at higher speed
hope this helps , it cost me £200 before i found this

That's the banjo filter that I mentioned above.
