94p KTC veg oil

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

94p KTC veg oil

Found in Makro. 20 litres for £18.75

Yes, you need a Makro card. Still, it beats £1.449 from the black pump!

Finally got my fuel gauge working today so it's not quite as much guess work about when I'll run out. Just followed the grounding advice on here, and had the dash out and wiggled some wires (very technical!) and hey presto. Happy days.

Been out and bought 40L of oil so here we go...

This will be my first time using veg oil, so quite nervous. I'm going to use 12.5L for a full tank. So it's about 20% veg. Will this be fine for the first use or should I start with less? I have a 25L container to mix 12.5-12.5 D/oil then add this to a quarter tank, then top up at pump.

I've located the fuel filter and have a spare on standby. I'm assuming that the van will get sluggish and cough if the filter gets blocked?

Note... If anyone is local to my Makro and wants me to get them in or some oil, just ask. If I'm free I'll help where I can. My local is Whitely. Between Southampton and Portsmouth.

She'll be fine :)

May be an idea to change the fuel filter after a few tanks of vegi, if only to get familiar with the change.

Start on diesel, finish on diesel. cruse on vegi /mix.

That's difficult when the fuel is already mixed in the tank
A 20% mix will cause no difficulty on most occasions. If it is very cold, you will notice that the engine "clatters" when first started - just leave it to tick over for a couple of minutes before driving off.

Cheers. I'm sure you'll hear all about it if it goes wrong! ;)
