FYI Veggie oil Prices

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

What is the score with using veg oil when you have a webasto fitted? Would it clog up the heater? Mine is fed from a standpipe in the tank rather than teed off. Presumably I could just desist from using the heater while running on veg mix?

Fine if you've got a Cash'n carry card, but us mere mortals are being cut off, at least around here (Sussex). None of my local supermarkets are doing large containers now, used to get Tesco's KTC, but 'no longer available' :( :( , same story at Asda etc.

Anyone else down my way have a supplier?

Have you got a "99p Shop" near you? They are selling 1litre KTC at the moment.

Forget Poundland though as their bottles are only 750ml.

Asa matter of fact, yes. Would they mind selling 100 bottles or so? :D

I've got the same arrangement as you, additional dip pipe in the tank, webasto airtop 2000. I've used self-mixed veg oil a couple of times, and the webasto doesn't like it at all - just refuses to fire up. It fairly gunged up my fuel filter too.

Once you've been on veg, and returned to 100% diesel, you might find it takes a few goes to start the webasto - once it's running and drawing clean fuel it is fine.

I went in with a huge shopping trolley a week or so ago and the local manager happily sold me 30l (all I could transport in the trolley) he even specially opened up a till for me to pay for it.

Go and ask - see if they will have the number of boxes you want ready at their loading bay. It comes in boxes of 6x1 litres.
