what % of veg to diesel are you guys on at moment?

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

Quite a high percentage....maybe 50/50 as just topped up with diesel.

Lumpy and smokey at start up, soon clears though.

Would not hesitate to run near 100% on a long run though.

Must get around to fitting some new glow plugs though.

Had a "Waxing" problem the other day at work, had to remove fuel filter and put neat diesel in it. Not a huge problem, will keep a spare filter and some injector cleaner on board just in case of a repeat.

Don't use the veg oil in winter, the bongo does not get enough running time, and as others have said its a bit lumpy starting if i do use it in winter.
Start to use it in spring till late autumn.
Lost without my Bongo.

Pretty much the same unless I am on a long run....when I go to about 15%.....I only go to 25/30% summertime anyway.....so the economy doesn't suffer.... if you are gonna save some dosh make sure the economy is good to get the max savings....IMHO

I have always cut right down on oil in the winter, especially when the temp is as low as we have it now, it goes too thick and can make the bongo run very lumpy and make it difficult to start, mind you I still buy it if it is cheap, lol.

No idea myself - lately, I've tended to run to nearly empty and fill to suit the trip. Don't know how nearly empty the tank is when the gauge is on empty so don't really know what mix is left in there. Tend to find that even in very cold weather, I can run on as high as I like, eg filling up with 20-30 litres oil on top of whatever is there - idle is lumpy even when fully up to temp but runs like a dream.

I left it too high %age returning after the 'Squirrel meet last weekend, thinking I was going straight back out again. Next day, took AGES to start - put 5L diesel in out of the can and eventually started to a beautiful idle.

Probably not tested in anything below -3 deg, yet...

Obviously not cold enough to affect it in the tank.
