Help with LPG install problems

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

I'm glad it's not suitable weather to camp........ as missing the bongo would drive me nuts!!!

As stated Dave is magic....if you have no joy get in touch and book it in at Worcestor!
However, Mint are UK experts and all being well, should put it right.

Good luck

The installer will be taking it to Mint/Autogas Worldwide as the Romano UK agent/distributor next Tuesday and hopefully back by the weekend.

Hi Jackolynn, Did you get your LPG problem sorted.

I have a similar problem, and am returning Saturday to an installer mentioned in the threads you were alluding to.
I think we purchased from the same bongo specialist in the south midlands (a strange experience in itself).

Am very happy with my purchase, just worried like you that i have to do so much mileage (Aylesbury ) to get problems
sorted.

Do let me know how you got on if possible

How did you get on?
A friend of mine is am LPG installer and some weeks he just sorts out other peoples work, its quite shocking.
I am sure the importer will get to the bottom of this, and at least the company are trying to help

After 2 weeks testing it was found that the smell was not LPG, but something coming off the engine or in the aircon through the ventilation which smelt a bit like gas and which the engineers have now treated and (touch wood) has not come back. Unfortunately no fault could be found to explain why the LPG system shut itself down, and of course it all worked fine when it was at the garage and on an extensive road test (over a weekend). The only reason offered was that the engine and LPG system just needed to bed down and get used to UK fuel (being directly imported from Japan) and the LPG. We love the van and the LPG is the only way we can afford to run it so we are giving it a go hoping it doesn't reoccur, and to date not a beat out of place.

Hi,

I've never heard of a vehicle that has ever needed to get used to UK fuel, that just an excuse for the garage not really knowing what the issue was. My vehicle had LPG install done on import & drove fine on petrol & LPG from the word go. My second V6 has run perfectly from import on UK fuel.
Makes me laugh the garbage some mechanics come out with.
Hope it carries on running ok for you.

Cheers

hi,Took my gas problem to the garage sat.

It was a leak from a non pressurised vacuum pipe and had clips fitted to this and others on system.
It was running beautifully anyway but now all is sorted with no whiff when i stop.

Had a conversation with the garage, re jockolynns problem. Same Garage!!! Was the smell from the air con which i have myself
on a Daewoo that i used to own when the filters in the air con go stale and stink when you turn it on, and it does smell a bit like gas if you had nothing to compare it with.

I`m sure you will be fine. I to was told to run my Bongo for 1000m before having conversion, which i did.
Got the feeling it was just to get the vehicle sold and out of the way. By you know who!

Happy times ahead. Good luck
