Where do you buy your Veggie oil?

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

Tesco Extra Bar Hill on A.14 nr Cambridge had boxes and boxes of Rapeseed & Sunflower Oil today.

Any 2 x 5Lt for £9.00 thats 2/3rds the price of diesel in their filling station.

20 litres for just shy of £20 in Bookers.

I bought and used a 'Shaker Siphon' for the first time with a 20l bottle yesterday. For the uninitiated, this is a tube with a brass connector containing a ball bearing, which you put into the bottle (placed slightly higher than the tank opening), put the other end into the tank, shake like mad and then stand back (for about 20 minutes) as the oil flows un-messily into your tank! I'm converted!

Search eBay for them, they're cheaper than many funnels!

For anyone in the Kings Lynn area there is a guy advertising on ebay £13 for 20 litres for virgin rapeseed. I collected 120 litres and can vouch for it, just not 100% convinced on the line that his supply is coming from a factory end of line run, as he told me he has a constant supply.

At that price it is worth travelling for!

The old Jiggle siphon.....nice piece of kit...ideal for Veg oil dispensing from 15/20 litre containers.... Laser version.. £5.99 Machine Mart... same one in Halfrauds..£7.99

Get it going and go and get a cuppa... if you don't want the whole 20 litres... pull out the tube...simple,cleanish and effective...

Tesco is the cheapest at the moment , if you can find it, not all stores stock the 5 litre pots as I found out but farm foods always have the 10 litres for 9.99 offer on so if stuck they oblige, I have always used a 1 and 1/2 litre water bottle with the bum cut off, fits perfect into the filler neck and allows the oil to pour tidy. In this hot weather even easier if you let the pots of oil sit in the sun for a while, makes it "thinner" and again easier to pour with not so much left in the pot.
