my V6 seems to be using a lot of fuel

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

Well I have fitted the lambda sensor today which was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be and first impressions are that the strong smell of petrol when I start the engine is not present so hopefully this was what was making my mpg so bad
I will not know for sure until I have used a tank or two of fule but i will keep anyone who is interested informed

That sounds promising. I'm tempted to get on & do mine just to see if it makes a difference to the running. Did it unscrew ok or was there some rust on the threads?

It unscrewed really easy, I thought it was going to be a bit of a pain but it wasn't ☺

Good, mpg sounds like it has got to improve after all these tweaks. Standing by. :)

Hi,

Just noticed this post. On mine it was my lamba sensor, I monitor my MPG and had noticed it was worse and the car seemed a little more perky. The wire on my 02 sensor had snapped so it was an easy fix.

Hope this has now fixed yours.

First impressions are that it has worked but I haven't used my bongo this week so it will be a while before I am totally sure

Not using the Bongo all week gives the ultimate in low fuel consumption :). I'd definitely like to hear how you get on after a few weeks of use. Might finally get round to doing mine.

Not a problem simon i use the bongo to go to work every other week so I will be using it next week and hopefully i will be able to let you know how it is doing soon
I need to use the full tank before I fill up again because it's got the 44k in it

i filled up the bongo today for the first time since I changed the lambda sensor and it worked out that it had done 15.25 mpg so thats a slight improvement on the original mpg the next thing i am going to do is change the oil and filter because i haven't done that for a couple of years
hopefully that will improve the mpg a bit more
