Lpg

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

More newbie technical problems here, hopefully you guys can help me,, filled my lpg tank yesterday ( 60 litres) yet after only 20 miles I've had to revert back to petrol as it started chugging and a red light on the switch appeared. Any suggestions please as to what I could have done wrong,, teething problems I know but Beryl is causing me concern

It would be advisable to take it to an LPG fitter for a leak test, you don't mess with LPG or any other GAS for that matter.

Good Luck.

As per rita's post, you'll need to take to an LPG fitter for testing. They'll do a pressure test to check for leaks. If it's loosing that much so quickly maybe you can smell the gas leaking?

Hopefully nothing serious.

A similar scenario to a new fit on my Toyota Estima many years ago ..

Apparently the LPG 'gauges' float also acts as a gas cut off valve .. the float's rod at got twisted out of place when being fitted into the tank ..

Thanks everyone,, after a chat with Ian Taylor who supplied Beryl, and a nice blast (?) down the motorway she's running fine off gas and with use there's every chance of the gauge rectifying itself

You could try a blast up a farm track road.
