LPG conversion is paid off. Happy days!

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

I kept a record of all related costs on our V6, and it's taken 6566 miles to do it, but the cost of conversion has been wiped out by the saving on fuel. We achieved 20.3 mpg since conversion at a cost of 14.5p/mile roughly, the petrol equivalent allowing for 20% better fuel burn, would have been about 24p/mile.

Around here the cost of LPG is relatively high at 68p/l, so if you are lucky enough to live in an area where it's cheaper, the pay-back time and saving would be better still.

If you have a petrol Bongo, do the maths and check you local supply but LPG is definitely worh considering. Our annual saving will pay for Insurance, tax and leave a little over.
