You can join 2 of the kit rods together as per the factsheet, and if you are a bit clever about where you put the joint you can adjust / tighten it through one of the existing holes in the door.

I fashioned (no pun intended) the hanger into one long rod, connecting from the actuator with a secure link through the hole to the rod under the internal door lock button using the connector that came with the original (now redundant) short actuator rod. Making it easy to adjust the linkage without scraping the knuckles.. Works a treat! 8)
The last time i used a hanger was when i locked my keys in the car in the 80's

They don't make coat hangers like that any more, & i even got a spare for helping with the guiding of the wiring through bulk heads! :D

Just don't tell my mum, she thinks i'm using em for a suit!!
The amount of these I have gone through, great for taping cable onto and shoving through walls and ceilings or forming into hooks and picking up stuff that has fell down the back of the washing machine... oh they don't make em like they used to I agree

I have to admit, i put my alarm locking controller gubbins inside the van.. The aerial (long distance transmitter sends a signal to the key fob & lets me know the alarm state.) is inside the windscreen pillar.. I felt that the constant use opening & slamming the door, plus possible water ingress may damage electrical components if situated in the door, & with the case of the one piece wire hanger...? Less connections to come loose, increasing longevity/reliability of the system.. [-o< (Not taking into account that i don't trust myself with my own workmanship) :D
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

I bought a similar kit from rightclick but found that the mazda key blanks don't work they are too small #-o How did you find them :?: Dave

  I'm afraid I misinformed you! when I went to get mine cut they were too small... same basic pattern but shorter.. sorry about that. I think a standard key cut down will probably do the job though? I will investigate this further.. The key cutters may even be able to cut down the end of the key on their cutting machine??

Still working OK though :)

At least you can order spare blades for their remotes, in fact you can order spare remotes too

You need to order the MA20 (grooved key blanks) these fit perfectly when cut as the lock ignores the groove, locksmith will probably say cant be done but convince him it works... because they do :D

Rightclick Key Blanks

To be safe i would order a spare too and take them to get cut, just in case they make a mistake like my cutter did, and i had to order another spare #-o

Can I just ask a question on this link.....Have searched a bit but thought I could creep in and get an answer from you knowledgeable guys and girls.

Central locking keeps going duff because of the wiring in the door. Hubby fixed a couple of times....is there a way to stop it happening. Wires are so tight.

Also our "Blipper" packed up quite a while ago and as people have said it is amazing how annoying it is without one. We have taken it to a "Specialist" who tried for an hour to find the problem....decided we needed a NEW ONE....Asked the price ......£180     Would rather go on holiday with that money and keep opening doors manually with key.

Just wondering if anybody out there has replaced the "BLIPPER" and what is involved and where to purchase one. Obviously I might get some replies about links etc. which I will follow up.

Answers can be technical as it is NOT ME WHO WILL BE REPLACING WHATEVER IS NEEDED    If I were to do anything TECHNICAL it would probably end up with the doors flying open on the motorway

Thanks for your time.

I lost my fob recently, only for about 24 hours, but it was amazing how much a pain it was when you are used to remote central locking to go back to manually opening the door with the key! I looked into replacements at the time and it did, as you suggest, seem very costly for a replacement. It was suggested to me on here to get an alarm fitted which taps into the current central locking system. It's booked in for just after Christmas and what I'll end up with is an immobiliser/alarm system with 2 replacement fobs which both control the central locking and arm the alarm. This for cheaper than 1 replacement fob at £180, never mind 2!

Cheaper to buy one of the kits talked about in this thread, bypass/remove the standard unit & fit a new control unit/receiver for £20 -£30 all in IMO if you don't want to go the alarm route.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Though I had better post my findings as I promised I would back in October!

I fitted the kit with folding key blades. All went well.

I had to join 2 rods together from a slave actuator to the lock in the drivers door and had a bit of an issue getting the key blades cut, but that was down to the key cutter making a mistake. New blanks are not expensive so it wasn't a big deal. A reccomended kit.

Hi Folks - I to am having issues to cause me to explore an aftermarket central locking system...my Bongo already has central locking with the fob on the head of the key (genuine Mazda), put hand in pocket on Sat to pull out a handful of "bits", the plastic body having disintegrated.

I'm pretty sure I wont get a genuine Mazda key for much short of a new mortgage, so...can I simply add a single door servo/motor & controller to the drivers door, and do I need a 2 wire or 5 wire motor ?

You shouldn't need to buy a servo for the drivers door as you already have central locking which means you already have one in the drivers door, your wiring will be a piece of cake to modify I would have thought.

Thanks Scott - I assume I can just use the "new" control unit to drive the servo....doh! makes perfect sense when you think about it. #-o
