This might not apply to your newer type engine Colin but will to '95 - 98 models
The duct tape is just to prevent further chafing, the clip has been "persuaded" away by gently levering the pipe to the rear by a couple of mm ...........

Engine advice......
Advice please, re Billie and her busted engine. My mechanic has tracked down a replacement engine, 28.000 miles removed from a tow truck, the engine is ok, year of manufacture 2002, probably ?850 + VAT is this worth persuing? or would a Bongo recon be better? Thanks

you say tow truck, does that mean its not a bongo engine.
if its either the ranger or the b2500 pick up you will find out that there are some significant differences.
firstly the above engines develope around 80 some bhp against 137 for the bongo.
the water bleed pipes are not found on the engines which are vital on the bongo. Ask pete humphreys about the problems hes had with his replacement (bongo) engine.
The turbo on the bongo is water cooled from the head and on the ranger and b2500 in sure that they arnt but that may have more to do with the extra bhp given out.
would try to steer clear if its not a gen bongo engine.
You could look at jalimports.co.uk
They say they have a range of replacement engines in but havnt dealt with them before.
