Sprung a water leak somewhere ! !

Post by Shane » Thu Oct 05, 2006 11:46 am

Spotted a puddle of water underneath the Bongo.

It has been parked up overnight and prior to it being put on
the drive the Air Con was not being used.

The level in the expansion tank is between the High and Low mark and I
have not touched it for ages.

I moved the Bongo a few yards to check the puddle, it is clear and
doen't smell of anything. On checking again it was dripping on to
the floor.

Without going up to the garage to see the Brother-in Law I cannot
see where it is coming from other than it is smack bang in the middle
just behind the engine block but a bit higher up.

I'll get it taken up there asap.

I think it is probably the drain that runs along the underneath of the windscreen !
When you lift the bonnet you will see a drain hole in the centre of the rain channel. Looks like yours is doing its job perfectly ! :D

If I doesn't taste of chemicals, it's unlikely to be coolant.

Wayne showed me his and cleaned mine by blowing down it at York (thanks Wayne)
Note to everyone... Clean it regularly. It gets gummed up and can lead to premature oxidisation.
