Post by pasky » Mon Oct 09, 2006 4:49 pm

Hi,
I have just ordered a pulley for my alternator, but am wondering how tight I should do it up.
Thanks

Couldn't say for certain but FT should suffice.

I assume FT means Flipping Tight?

er yep! if you know the thread size i'll look in my excavator manuals and dig out the most suitable torque setting as recommended by yanmar diesels for their alternators.

Nice one. I'll have to get back to you on the size, don't fancy looking in the dark, and it's tipping it down out there. Cheers
