Rear 12v socket

Post by mycallsevern » Fri Apr 22, 2016 5:46 pm

Hi,

I have an early Freda and my rear 12v socket isn't working. Are there any common issues with these? It looks a bit rusty inside so is it best to start by replacing the socket and see if that works? Or is there a fuse I should be checking? If I am to replace the socket where do I get this from?

All other electrics are working as normal and the van is standard (no leisure battery or hookup).

Thanks for your help, Michael

There should be a fuse link on the bottom of the socket itself,if that's intact and you've got power there it could just need cleaning up with contact cleaner.I'm not sure if the sockets are a universal size but most accessory shops sell them.

Thanks, I removed the socket and tested the connection, wires were live so I just whacked a new socket in. Everything is working well now :D
