put some resistors on the egr signal wire, or replace the missing egr valve position switch, so it signals open or closed etc, then get box up to temp and see if it changes owt matt..

just spend a min reading this link.

Quicky update - huge thanks to Ady and Shell for putting me up and putting up with me last week. It was a long drive in 3rd, but worth it. ;) Cheers to bongospares for getting me sorted with a replacement gearbox! :D

I've got the old box sitting out back, will open it up for a laugh and see if there's anything to be seen. If anyone's looking for a solenoid pack that's only done 300 miles from new, make me an offer.

Sounds like an amazing thing got done thanks to A&S. Well done all and it'll be interesting to get the post mortem on the old gearbox.
