Coolant leak - looking for a garage near Bath

Post by BongoBear » Sun Apr 19, 2020 9:31 pm

Hi all,

My Bongo (well, Freda) decided to dump its coolant on the road when I pulled off recently. I was only taking it across town and it hasn’t overheated but there’s nothing left in the header tank.

I’ve taken it to a local garage here in Bath before where one of the mechanic’s dad used to import Bongos so he seems to know them quite well, but I’ve read that the coolant system is quite particular so wondering if anyone can recommend a garage here (or possibly Keynsham/this side of Bristol)?

Is there a sticky for recommended garages? Couldn’t see one but maybe I missed it!

Aware that most are probably closed right now and I’m not planning any trips but would be good t have one lined up.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

Bell Hill Garage, Norton St Philip, used to sell and service them.

Their reputation is very good, just not sure if they are still working on them, though.

Worth a call.

There is a list of Bongo Friendly garages in the Members' Area.

You don't need a bath, a bucket will do to catch it.😉.

Sorry, couldn't resist.😷.
