obd2 port RF diesel 2.0

Post by pegrande » Thu May 07, 2020 4:51 pm

hi everyone, I've joined this group because of problems with the above subject. My Bongo (which is rebadged as Nissan Vanette) is from 2010 and I've bought it because of the fine engine. I am now in limp mode and that seems to be linked to the EGR. I do have an older style Mazda diagnose port (as stated in earlier posts here OBD1 ) but there are some cut wires obviously from a formerly connected OBD2 Port. Not sure why that would have been removed but its a fact.
Does anybody have a wiring diagram of the OBD2 port so I can reconnect???
Thanks in advance.....

Welcome.
That sounds like the previous 3rd generation Bongo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_Bon ... 80%931999)
Not sure we have much experience on those vehicles at all, most of the users here are dealing with the Mazda Friendee or Ford Freda.
Would be surprised that there was an OBDII port on the previous generation when it wasn't added to the Friendee until post 2002 (?).

I think this is a Bongo E series a very different beast to the Freindee we deal with.

problem solved: Firstly there is an OBD 2 plug. My problem finding it was because it is on a detachable wiring loom that had been forgotten and it does not seem to share wiring with the Mazda / OBD1 plug.
But a funny descovery that might help others was the reason for the limp mode: I could narrow it down to some problem with accelerator / TPS. I did have several fault codes related to that. Now the electronic accelerator pedal has 2 potis, one linear with a falling curve and one rotating with a rising curve. Through trial and error I discovered that a little rubber disc/backstop had fallen out. There is some stuff online about how to calibrate that sort of pedal but that seems to be not necessary. This little rubber disc missing, about 12mm dia and 4mm high is all it needs  to send the ECU in limp mode!!!
