NS rear 12v outlet. What current can I safely draw from it?

The sockets themselves are rated and fused for 10Amps, but the wiring to the rear sockets is on the thin side so you will get a lot of voltage drop if you try to draw 10 Amps.

Not only is the live wire to the socket rated at around 5amps the negative wire is thinner than the live, so check and replace if this is the case.
I had a short from my stereo, which tripped out my folding mirrors and front cigarette lighter. Having isolated and replaced wires, the only earth wire I found melted was this earth wire at the rear socket.
