Bike Rack
Any recommendations for a 2 bike rack please?
Re: Bike Rack
I use a Pendle mounted on the tow bar.
The bracket also acts as a support for the table. I'll try and remember to take a pic tomorrow.

Loads of posts on here. Thule 973-18 Backpac 2 is my choice, great bike rack above number plate etc. Added bonus recently for me as is it takes the Thule Backup 900 storage box when the bikes are not on it, which is great for all the gear from the van in the 420L box. The rack stays on all the time and I have had no issues with it, it works.

Thanks - looking at a tow bar rack.

Hi Flanners,
We were looking to get a Thule! Do you have a spoiler? We have a spoiler and we thought that would not fit?

Re: Bike Rack
Here's my Paddy Hopkirk CM06 in situ: top straps go under the spoiler, bikes are just about high enough not to obscure lights/plate, so need no tailboard.
45kg max load (3 bikes), I make sure the load bars are 30deg above horizontal, always use bungees (as straps can slip, even break) and wedge magazines or cardboard in-between to prevent bikes rubbing on each other.
Paddy Hopkirk don't seem to be available any more, but these in Halfords look to have a similar design:
Rear High Mount 3-Bike Bike Rack , Exodus Rear High Mount 3-Bike Bike Rack
Not sure this helps much, but the lovely folk here are always helping me

Any of the flange mounted ones here: https://www.witter-towbars.co.uk/bike-r ... ype=towbar
are very good and much more reasonable than some other brands. We have the one with the slight overhang, which is handy so the handlebars of the first bike don't scratch your paintwork.

Blimey they are pricey them are!
Not much in it between fitting a tow bar with a ball fitting rack or the thing that attaches to the tailgate only thing being you cant tow a caravan with the tailgate rack.
Why have things become so over complicated and expensive?

Re: Bike Rack
Hi, How do you know if a tailgate bike rack will fit? I searched with my Bongo on Halford's and it came up zero but it seems from here that they do ones which will fit. Would Halford's or other stores advise for free or must we guess? Thanks Anne

Re: Bike Rack
Because the Bongo Friendee was never imported into the country it isn't on the usual lists, search the forum and you will see which types / makes fit etc.

Re: Bike Rack
Thanks Geoff I did do a search but wasn't quite sure on the results. Yes I shouldn't be expecting standard outlets to recognise an imported vehicle. I've a lot to learn!

Re: Bike Rack
I would have said unlikely because it appears to have been designed for a car with sloping recessed back window!
Thule 973 with the correct mounting kit appears to be a popular one for Bongo's viewtopic.php?p=482597#p482597
