Engine Squeak

Post by loovic07 » Sun Aug 09, 2020 8:54 am

I have a 2L Petrol 2004 and have recently developed a kind-of squeak from the engine. Its only apparent at low revs/tick-over. I suspect the alternator belt which looks like it needs changing or a bearing. Is there a tension pulley I cant quite see the set-up and is there a description on how to change the belt. The other belt on the passenger side looks good.

Give the suspect belt a squirt of soapy water with a plant sprayer set on point. If there is any change then thats the belt to swop/adjust.
If you change a twin belt then both should be changed as a matched pair.

2.0 L Petrol 2004 - OK so as I posted previously; I have this squeak/whistle on engine rotation. It seems from an "expert" that is definitely a dry belt being the alt/aircon belt. Has anyone changed this belt and how to go about it?
It seems quite difficult looking from the top from the top. Is it changed from underneath i.e. on a ramp.
Any info would be most grateful to receive.
