Fan control servo feels like me.

Post by Ollymuk » Mon Dec 28, 2020 3:45 pm

Hi all

I've noticed that the fan control servo isn't moving the control rods.

You can see it try, but it never musters the power to actually get things moving. The window mode button does elicit a response but it takes about 30 seconds to generate the oompf.

Clearly it's not the fuse, but is the servo an easily sourced part?

Is it worth cleaning the whole lot?

Try disconnecting the push rod for starters, then you will see if its the servo or the disk/vanes that are causing the problem;

Disconnected the rod from the main servo arm and the arm moves as expected when you change modes.

With the rod attached it struggles mightily.

Could it be one of the vent flaps has gotten stuck, stopping the whole thing rotating?

It could be anything in the chain, the disk bearing, a stuck push rod or a vane internally!
