Coolant sensor on Bongo Friendee 2L auto petrol

Post by bongoDHG » Fri May 07, 2021 4:53 pm

Hi
Someone I met whilst camping last weekend (cold!) had a Bongo for several years and advised me to fit a coolant sensor. Is this a good idea, and is it expensive?
best wishes Dave

Known as a Low Coolant Alarm.

Yes, good idea, especially on a diesel, and about £100.

Google Haydn Alarms, or cheap knock offs can be had. Don't recommended the cheapies, but others are entitled to their view. 8)

I fitted one of Haydn's alarms on march 16th 2018 and it went off due to a coolant leak on the 26th of the same month.

Thing payed for itself (and then some) within 10 days 😂
