Here's an additional 2 Life members. Gabby Early (guitar, vocals) and Marc Smith (bass, tapping foot) are Bongo owning members of top Cardiff teenage rocking combo "Pub Fiction". Regulars at various Bongo events over the last few years, the club could not afford to pay them for their recent beach gig at St Davids. So we have awarded them life membership instead.

Gentlemen: we salute you.

Wow, thanks ever so much Ian. We're both really pleased that everyone enjoyed the music.
It was a great trip. Everyone was so friendly (as is usual with Bongo owners, of course).

Thank you ever so much for awarding us life membership - that's such a nice gesture :D :D
We both enjoyed it, and are hoping to get to do a repeat performance in future
We'd both be happy to do the same trip again

Cheers everyone, and many thanks again Ian

Congratulations to the 2019 Bongonaut of the Year Mel McGeoch. This was awarded for the hard work and dedication over the years for acting as Bongo Baz's carer. Well done Mel!

Terri Stringer has been added to the list of life members as she is arranging not 1, not 2, but 3 meetings for National Bongo Day!

Organising even a small get together can be like herding cats.

The Bongonaut of the Year for 2020 has been awarded posthumously to Jeff Fordham. Jeff had been a volunteer at the Bongo Bash since it's inception in 2003 and was a regular at other meetings too. You couldn't meet a nicer chap. He died after a short illness last December. We all miss him loads.

I know that his wife Paulette doesn't like too much of a fuss, but I know she was a keen gardener, so as a token of our appreciation we will be sending her a miniature Bonsai "Jeff Tree" next week as a living memorial. A fitting tribute.

Well done, Ian.

We worked on check in (Stourport) with Jeff a few times and he was, indeed, a jolly sound fellow.

Well deserved appointment, and he will be much missed.
