statistics show there are more fires caused by cigeretts than any thing els.
the firefighter in the video stated 11 fire have been reported THAT may of been caused by lanterns since 2008,
thats nearly 3 a year
about 900 people in the United States die each year in fires started by cigarettes, and about 2,500 are injured. Nationally, annual human and property costs of fires caused by careless smoking total about $6 billion. In 1997, there were more than 130,000 cigarette related fires.Eg/ home fires , grass fires, work establishments and cigarettes not properly extiguished in bins.
And then theres fireworks,
i think there are more worrying things than lanterns.

i have put my name on a lanter and a message when setting them off at a funeral.

the mother of the child didnt mind setting them off till he got burnt, would she still be like that if he didnt get burnt ,, i thing so,

this is beging to be a good topic well done everyone =D>

Here's a link to I-Player (it won't be available indefinitely) - it's about 22 minutes in.

If anyone has difficult with the Welsh accents - let me know and I'll translate :D
The first clip about the 3 year old is the incident I used as an example of earlier in the post.

Quite a few reasons there to consider banning them? :?: Certainly food for thought anyway.

Cheers
