National Bongo Day New Forest Royal Oak Pub Lunch

To celebrate 10 years since the formation of the Bongo Fury owners club, Sunday 24th February 2013 has been designated as National Bongo Day. What we have in mind is a series of events in various locations across the UK & Ireland where Bongonauts can get to meet each other and perhaps have a Sunday lunch.

Hello!!!

After having to pull out of last years main Bongo meet :( we're looking forward to this one!

We're booked in at Hurst View, partly because we have no portable loo facilities :? Looking forward to meeting everyone at the Royal Oak

The Royal Oak was specially chosen for the meet as it is friendly for children, dogs and specialist vehicle clubs. Plus adults, extraterrestrials and anyone else who wishes to turn up. There is a large garden with Freya the owl in an aviary. Children and dogs allowed in the pub. Horses go in their own corral. There is one for any horse riders who turn up. =D> There is a bus to Hythe, but not sure on a Sunday about times. New Forest ponies and donkeys stay outside. There is a lot of open space for a footy kick around. The landlord is expecting us but as it is a popular pub for Sunday lunch we will make a firm booking.

As this seems likely to be a well attended meet, I will put up a list, ask for preferred time, estimate of numbers and then make the booking. Food is available to six, but there will probably be a group eating together. As the pub is near to Beaulieu Motor Museum the landlord is used to weird and vintage vehicles arriving for rallies.

For those with a driver there is a fine range of beers and cider on hand pumps. Food is good. A choice of tearooms is available in Beaulieu.

I have my fingers crossed that I can get there but there is a strong possibility I won't beable to make it unfortunately. I may just have to turn up if I can without booking.

See you Saturday night. I'll be in a big white whale of a motorhome as the bongo got sold. Will look out for you. Having bongo withdrawal symptoms and missing the bongo peep friends :)

Not been to any meets before but this sounds good as I live in Fareham. Thinking of braving the cold and staying at Setthorns on Saturday night
Look forward to meeting you all
