click click click
while driven the van this morning, I desided to not put the stereo on and notice a click click sort of tap tap coming from under the dash i've never notice before is it normal. it only seems to happen when accelerating and the revs are over 1500 rpm.
Bongo now work later !!!

Re: click click click
Does it happen once every minute? Could be your clock if you have a BMW one, they are noisy.
Could be your split charge relay clicking in and out, mine did that when my alternator was starting to fail.
... or it could be the glow plug relay does only do it for a few minutes after starting?

I don't have a bmw clock so its not that, just had the glow plugs replaced. i've not driven it on a long trip since I noticed the sound. i'll take the van for a run let it warm right up and see if I still get the sound

I seem to get the same thing - been wondering about it since I picked mine up.... had mine before I got a relay plugged in - will try to monitor it somehow this weekend..... mine sounds like a bit like clicking on a switch or something - usually a few, then it goes quiet and you hear it again.... Can't remember hearing it when cruising along though, but will check over this weekend.

Hi
Don't think I'm being daft, but are you sure it's under the dash? sound seems to come from strange places in the Bongo...have you checked for a stone in a tyre...they can give a sound which seems to come from within..failing that, the relay suggestions sound good
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Re: click click click
New plugs won't stop the glow plug relay clicking in and out as it is supposed to do that. After the initial plug heat, once the engine has started it will continue to heat them unless revs are 2500 RPM IIRC? This continues until the engine is somewhere near normal running temp.
See if it clicks somewhere in time with the air con clicking in and out (rad fans running up) as with low revs, this causes a voltage drop which can switch your split charge relay.

Re: click click click
There's a fact sheet in the members area on fitting a switch for the glow plug relay, just don't forget to switch it back on when you go to start it the next morning

Re: click click click
Could be raving mad here , but I had the same, it was the speedo miles counter not properly operated when I pushed the little knob in to reset it.
Every time the mile (killometer) counter tried to move it clicked.
Just had to push it in a little harder (it has happened since but I am now wise to it)
