Southport Musical Fireworks Competition

Post by snow_kiter » Wed Oct 07, 2009 11:33 am

After the joys of getting out of Southport in the Airshow traffic I thought I would try again and go to the fireworks competition. This Saturday 10th October.

Southport What's On

There will be 3 companies displaying on the Saturday night from 8pm.

Tickets for entry into Marine Lake will be £8 on the gate.

Thought meet on Ainsdale beach early/mid afternoon. Look for me under the big kite (weather dependant) then go into Southport for food and fireworks about 6ish.

Hi Peter,
We went to this a couple of years ago, parked the Bongo along the front (pay and display) and walked in and watched the show from the new bridge which overlooks the lake area. Its good to watch but like everything in regard to Southport events are a total pain to get away from when its over!! Parking where we did allows an early dart before the end and beat the gridlock!!

I cant go this time as I have a rather important Rugby League match to see!! :D :D :D otherwise I would have been very tempted to join ya!!

Was also there last night (late decision) - had the cheap seats - outside by the carousel / arcade. Pete did spot you going, turning towards the Formby Bypass but was in missus`s Fiesta. #-o Good job you didn`t go tonight as fireworks were cancelled due to high winds.

Thought the displays were fantastic. We were sat on the wall behind the crazy golf course. Didn't want to get in among the crowds and think we hardly missed any of the displays.

We both thought the 2nd display was the best. Seemed in perfect time with the music and gave a really good interpretation.
Will look out for the results.
