on the rear drum there is a threaded hole provided to screw a bolt into, that will pull the drum off provided handbrake is off and the adjusters are slackened.
if its well stuck unwind the adjusters and use the lump hammer via a block of wood to try and get some movement. i have found the provided hole and bolt usually do release the drums quite well.

redalan, not that long ago say six months, i renewed all the discs and pads , and i kept wondering at the time what that threaded hole could be used for, never did figure it out , now i know i,ll try that tomorrow(weather permitting)

finally got it moving ok.
handbrake shoes stuck on both wheels, there was no threaded hole on these particular discs ,so were hard to remove ,did it by using a lump hammer and knocking on the rim of the disc.to make them ring like bells, and so the vibration changed there shape slightly which released them

although all discs were new 2 weeks before the 3 months layup, it was surprising how rusty they had gone , and when driving for the first time then braking it sounded like hell on earth, but all settled in ok now and running well.

thanks to everyone for the advice

Excellent news. So next time its chocks on and handbrake off when parked up (and I'd do well to remember to do that with mine as I have an op. due in April so it may be laid up for a few weeks). 8)

mikeonb4c, suggest you run the fuel tank down fairly low, as at one time on another post, when because of the long park,
it was suggested that the fuel goes funny and you may need to drain your tank, mine was full up, luckily i did,nt need to do that . (phew)

btw are there tools other than a lump hammer ,news to me !!!!!!

Like you bobnbongo, I prefer precision tools. Angle grinders are quite handy for a multitude of things. Good for splitting a stat housing. and compliments a lump hammer very nicely indeed :P
BTW - Good info on releasing stuck brakes.=D> =D> Ya learn summat every day.
