How to remove interior mirror in front cab

Hi its me again. Does anyone know if you can take of this mirror from its holder which is glued to windsc reen?????? Our mirror is discoloured around the edges and i have just found one on ebay but thought i would get advise here first......dont want to crack the windscreen in the process lol

It'd be nice to think you could remove the mirror without removing the mount, but frankly, I've no idea. On my old Nissan Sunny the mirror and bar were screwed to a baseplate.

BF member NeilT got me and him wide angle mirrors that clip over the mirror, so you get a much wider field of vision. I love it (even though it means the ability to dip it is lost) and have kept it ever since. But because it means the image in the reversing mirror is too small, I bought an inexpensive stick on one to go next to it on the windscreen and that gives me a straight image through the back window, with a decent size image of the rear bumper etc. in reversing mirror when I reverse. Sounds Heath Robinson I know but the setup works great once you've settled to it.

I seem to recall it pulls up to release from the holder. There may also be a small grub screw to be loosened, but I can't recall exactly.

Good question. I seem to recall hearing of one or two that do, so may be an optional extra, or else std on later models?

My wife wants one. I was going to just get a stick-on one, but if a Bongo sun visor with one built in can be had, that would look better.

Are you talking about the rear view mirror? My son (4) has successfully removed the rear view mirror from two out of three of my husband's cars but has thus far failed to get the Bongo one off before I have caught him and threatened to cut his fingers off. I suspect, then, that it is not that easy to do

Allison I guess you mean removing the mirror is not easy and not cutting your son's finger's off lol Seriously though I think it could be a bit tricky removing the whole thing although I was told by the local auto shop there is some kind of glue disolver that can make it slide off.....Maybe I should borrow your son as the last mirror I removed out of my laguna I managed to crack the windscreen.......something I dont really want to have to do with our bongo

Why not do what I did and search the pound shops, lol, I found one of those wide angle mirrors that just clip over the old one, would not be without it now gives such a good view of the whole of the rear of the car and rear screen.

I think mine has.I don't sit in the passenger seat very often and (if you meet me you'll probably notice) I only look in the mirror once a day - first thing in the morning

For some reason I have to take him everywhere with me, and I have to take him home again . Hopefully your mirror will be sorted by then.
