Hi anyone had a problem with a smell of burning coming from underneath the Bongo. It smelled like burning tyres but a check of the wheels showed no overheating. Just driven the day before from the Island upto leeds no problems but then went over to Huddersfield up some steep hills and then thats when the smell started. Next day drove back to the Island no smell but it does seem that its going up hills that causes the problem, especially under load. Any Ideas? can it be the autobox on the way out?
Reason I highlite the Autobox is that I notice it doesnt lock into top as the manual says it should over 40Mph no matter what speed I travel at the engine revs and the box locks in top after a few seconds, this may be normal and just me worrying.

Do a search for 'rubber' and you'll see a lot of recent debate about this one. Personally I doubt it'll be anything to do with the gearbox, and the change-up sounds normal to meandyiow wrote:Hi anyone had a problem with a smell of burning coming from underneath the Bongo.
