Underseal - Tectyl (Valvoline) and Tetra Schutz (Tetrosyl)

Post by walty666 » Mon Apr 19, 2010 4:15 pm

Hello,
Has anybody had experience with using the above products to underseal their Bongo? My two local garages use them rather than Waxoyl and I'm wondering if they're as good.
Cheers
Ross

Used the schutz a few times, would use waxoyl every time.
Schutz peels and cracks and the rust grows underneath.
Waxoyl can just be sprayed again and again.
Just keep topping it up.

Ditto, there was a bit of a discussion on this at Tackeroo yesterday. The dealer/workshop present said they prefer waxoyl - but keep it topped up!

Waxoyl and topped up for me too.......... they guys used a shutz gun to coat the majority of the larger part of the undersidde of mine it gave the underside a decent thickness of the stuff then injected the box sections....
