Bristol Camping?
One of my favorite bands are playing for the release of their new album in Bristol on the 21st
and I am seriously considering getting up for it
This is where they are http://www.myspace.com/therinkydinks
Now big question, where can I safely park up for the night,
within walking distance
as I wont be driving for obvious reasons

Re: Bristol Camping?
I don't normally recommend the Caravan Club but how about
http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/caravanclu ... ty=Bristol
It is apparently very close to the centre and other people have said good things about it.
I don't know of any streets near the centre of Bristol where I would fancy staying the night
I hope you get to go and have a great time.

Cheers Sar N Ade, I will give it a ring and see what they say as I am not a member (not sure if you have to be?)
On google maps it is 1.6 miles from the venue so that's about 20 mins there, lovely jubbely ,
about 90 mins on the way back

Re: Bristol Camping?
There is a nice campsite on the Bristol side of Bath called Newton Mill. It would be an expensive taxi ride.
If the university is on holiday you can stay cheaply in the halls of Residence in Stoke Bishop. Otherwise I am sure you can park up in some of those quiet side streets off Saville Road or Parry's Lane up by the downs. However, I don't know what the legality is of being drunk upstairs in a bongo.

Re: Bristol Camping?
It is very popular and always booked weeks ahead. Not sure therefore, if it is open to non CC members (some are, some aren't, did you find out?) but beware anyway - they will almost certainly exclude on arrival even if pre-booked, as at many CC sites, if a non-member turns up with a Bongo not complying with their full permanent conversion motorcaravan/motorhome definition.crazy uncle gray g wrote: Blast! obviously a popular site, fully booked

Otherwise, can strongly recommend it for any future visits, with sufficient booking time. There's a good pub on the (Avon) harbourside, just out the back entrance, a brilliant shuttle river bus service from the site into central Bristol with plenty of intermediate stops, and excellent bus tours from right outside the main road entrance.
