Rear wiper and tent light

Post by Rob & Bongo » Sat May 22, 2010 7:36 pm

Hello fello bongo people

My rear wiper and tent light (next to the roof lock button) dont work (Bulbs fine), ive had the old muti meter out and they dont seem to be getting any power. The motor dose work and has been tested. I have seen the old posts about the rear wiper and the problems with the rubber gromit that the wires run through (tail gate), and they are fine there.
I have looked at the fuse's and again all fine any ideas would be welcome. I have changed the wiper control at the wheel and still no luck!! Is there a relay that could be at fault or bad earth?. Other than that i love my bongo and have no other problems at all
My first weekend away on the 28th to the 31st may bankholiday and looking forward to it.

Regards Rob

There isn't a lot to go wrong with the rear wiper, ignition switch, fuse, motor, and back to the stalk switches;
Hover the mouse over the fuses for picture of the fuse location.
Likewise for the AFT light;
, check the fuses and then suspect the switch and finally check the earth connections I suggest.

The switch in the tent light can be a bit tempremental. When mine stopped working the switch looked fine, with no corrosion, but spraying some contact cleaner into it & working the switch repeatedly got it working again & I've had no problems in the last year.
