quick answer on tyre pressures

Does anyone have a figure for tyre pressures on the bongo when fully loaded with camping gear? Its not converted but it will be full of 5 people and awning and camp gear etc....

I had a trawl through the Forum last week about tyre pressure and there's a lot of different preferences. The one that I opted for (van fully loaded with all the gear and 2 kids) is 40psi in all 4 corners....it does the trick for me.

Im a 38 Front 40 Rear ......on Van Tyres.... works for me.... I guess it's try it and see what your happy with around an about the psi figures quoted

There ain't no quick answer to that one I'm afraid.

An unconverted 2wd on standard 15" wheels is going to be completely different to a converted 4wd on 18" alloys.

I've had 15, 16, 17, 18" & am now back on 15" alloys with a semi conversion in the back. at the moment I'm on 40 front/43 rear but thats likely to change as the fronts seem to be wearing at the edges.

The best set up on your own particular arrangment is going to be the combination that feels "right" without compromising safety, fuel consumption or uneven tyre wear.

As a rule of thumb guide...Better a bit too much pressure than a bit too low! Especially when carrying all that weight in this warmer weather. I'd try 40PSI on each corner to start with, then take it from there...

I've always run at 36 front and 38 rear, but with my new tyres I thought I'd go up to 38 and 40 but it felt horrid, so I've gone back again. It really does depend on all the things everyone else has said and (in my very humblest of opinions) the roads (round here they're dreadful which is why harder tyres felt so bad)

I too have 40's all round on 15inch wheels and a full conversion although I do increase them to 42 when fully loaded up for a weekend away camping.

Make sure your tyres are cold when measuring the pressures for acuaracy and beware that those rip off (50p here) garage forecourt air machines can be inacurate too.

I'm running on 40psi front and 45psi rear. Got a rear conversion, pretty solid. Talked to my local tyre supplier as I thought 33000 miles should mean tyres due for a change and we are due for a 3000 mile continental trip. He said that no need to change yet maybe in another 5000 miles. Can I get 40000 miles from a set of tyres?
As far as wear on the rims is concerned doesn't this mean the pressure is not sufficient?
