Petrol Gauge - 2.0L Petrol AFT

Post by mcbainia » Thu Jun 03, 2010 6:28 am

Morning all.

I just noticed this morning that my petrol gauge was showing as Full before I started the engine. I immediately thought that this was stuck as I've never noticed this before - I though that when the engine was off, the gauge would drop down to the empty. Does the petrol Gauge show true all the time with the engine on or off ?

Don't worry, I'm sure it reads the amount when the sensor was last acticated rather than returning to zero / empty when you turn the engine off. Ours is the same I think, but no doubt others will be along to confirm.

All the best

There was another post asking the same question just the other day and YES it is normal for Toyotas my then boss bought a new Corolla in 1976 and it did just the same he thought it was strange but the dealer just said "They all do that".

I think most Japanese and US cars are now the same.
