What is the black coloured attached thingy behind rear seat?

Post by Muddy Fox » Sun Jun 27, 2010 10:05 pm

We are looking at upgrading our existing M reg to a T reg - the latter has a strange looking metal bar thing of about a foot in length attached with a cord to the right side back door end runner of the seat rail.

I wanted to upload an image but can't work out how?

Anyone got any idea please what purpose this bit of metal serves?

Thats exactly what it is....stops the rear seat going so far back you would damage the tailgate if you shut it whilst the seats are so far back....ours also has one to stop the front seat.

Thanks for both replies. Very useful and you have solved the mystery. Surprise is that the previous owner just left it like that along with the polythene cover for the roof compartment mostly still in place!!
