Drivers side electric wing mirror

Post by Caroline & Tony » Mon Aug 30, 2010 8:44 am

Hi, picked up our bongo Saturday and having fun seeing how it all works. Come across our 1st problem. The drivers wing mirror doesn't adjust or fold in. I guess it could be just a fuse but if anyone has had the same problem if would be great to know how you fixed it. Thanks.

The drivers wing mirror doesn't adjust or fold in.
Could be worse. The passenger side is further to walk round to or reach out of the window!

Mine gave up a year or two back.

Turned out to be a broken wire in the loom where it runs into the door.

Easy fix & I've never looked back since!.

try seeing if its come off the mechanism,if they are knocked they disengage from the mechanism to protect themselves.i think you either gently push them all the way forward or backwards,to reengage the mechanism that moves it.

It's the door loom... Sorted this out for someone in Bristol a few months back, the speaker had gone too, along with the window... Oh the joy on the owners face as the drivers door came back to life!!!

Thanks everyone - looking at the wiring loom at the door hinge I can see quite a few of the wires are broken. Not a lot of room in there or play on the wires to strip and reconnect them but I guess thats what I've got to do. Cheers.
