Antenna Adaptor

Post by oddshapedballs » Thu Feb 03, 2011 6:22 pm

I have just switched the old Alpine stereo for a UK unit, wiring loom all ok and power and all connections ok. The only snag I have is the aerial lead has a strange jack plug on it which will not fit stereo. Any ideas on an adaptor I could get from Halfords or elsewhere to solve this?

Many Thanks

Thanks it is difficult to see if it will do the job, the jack from the aerial cable looks almost like a large standard audio headphone jack not seen one like it before. May have to pop to Halfords and get them to match it up.

Does the end of the aerial look like this?

If so, then the first suggestion is the one you want.

That sounds normal to me 8) . Some units, including Blaupunkt, are using a different pattern which TonyBee's adaptor should fit.

Thanks all the jack plug on the aerial lead looks just like an audio jack for headphones (large) and the back of the stereo has a female plug with red edging on it, sorry for the vague details not really sure about all of this. Just unravelling all the wires from the old stereo was enough to get me stressed though my Halfords wiring loom works wonders.

Sounds as if it may have been changed at some time - can you post a photo of it?

Will try to get one if I don't get near a Halfords in the next couple of days. May even resort to snipping and replacing with a standard crimped plug. Thanks again for all your help.
