Driving Lights

Post by malabar » Sat Feb 26, 2011 12:41 pm

Help needed please. Our driving lights are either on very low dipped, or we have to use full beam. How do we raise the pitch of the lights to drive safely. We are off to France 6th March, and fixing deflectors as well. Thanks a lot. Malabar.

Have you tried fiddling with the plugs to the actual bulbs whilst they are switched on? Sometimes the plugs "go loose" (though they feel tight), and a good earth is needed for a continuous good light... Some bongo's have "auto dip" switches fitted too... Is there any aftermarket rocker switches in the cabin that are (on the surface) apparently redundant? Try flicking any spurious switches with the lights on to see if there is any difference...

Hi malabar,

If you take your vehicle to a garage with a Beam Setter they will test your setting and adjust if required, then you know your lights are Legal.

They can also test the strength of the light.

Cheers..

"very low dipped" Aha! I see! (thanks rita) I read that as low light output... #-o
