oil top up

need to top up the oil, bit low on dip stick but cant afford full change and new filter etc - which oil
should i use?

Same as what's already in there - check with whoever did it last change 8)

lol i would but cant get through on phone - does it matter if mix diff oils ?

Not really but not ideal.

It should be 5W-30 or 10W-40 at a pinch.

For a top up if you are going to be changing anytime soon just use mineral, no need for Synth or Semi-synth.

make sure its for turbo diesels, 5w 30.
not petrol engines.

Hi flipflop,

If the vehicle is using oil you would be better using 10w/40 oil.

Always remember any oil is better than none.

I always use 5-30 synth why do you say just use mineral scanner i thought that was for old vehicles :lol:

I said "IF" only topping up and "IF" intending to do a full change soon only use mineral to top up for now - save the good oil for the full change. No sense in using good oil if it is going to be thrown away soon.

Certainly use semi-synthetic or synthetic for a full change OR stick with mineral if you change it every 3000m.
