Taking the Bongo to Netherlands in August. Has anyone got any tips, recommendations, etc? We're probably going to stay at Hooge Veluwe national park for a few days and Texel island, for some seaside.

From Leyland take the P&O Hull-Rotterdam overnight sailing and get the meals as well - fill your boots before you get to Holland

Hi
We are doing much the same thing, having visited the netherlands every year for the past 5 years (but not in the Bongo so this is a first for us). We love the Veluwe area too and will probably stay there for a couple of nights (we are over there 13-27th August). Not sure on our route yet though but we were also considering Texel :)

There's another campsite in the Gelderland area, Camping Warnsborn, http://www.campingwarnsborn.nl/en/camping.lp that we've camped at before, its in the woods, within cycling distance of the Open Air Museum http://www.openluchtmuseum.nl/en/ and also the Scaarsbergen enntrance of the HOge Veluwe. Also a bus goes from outside into Arnhem if you didn't want to take the van although as you probably already know parking usually isn't an issue usually in Arnhem

We are taking the Hull-Rotterdam ferry, its brilliant and worth the money, we treat it as part of the holiday.

We then went to disneyland Paris and stayed 4 nights for £20.

Bargain but no hot showers! :)
