Electric window rollup module

Post by AlliDelta » Tue Jun 07, 2011 11:01 pm

I'm looking to fit an alarm to our Bongo. I was also thinking of fitting a module to roll up the windows via arming the alarm. I have found a universal one that works with the alarm I have ordered but it clearly states that it won't work with the Bongo.

Anyone know why it won't work or can sugguest a workaround?? [-o<

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Ignore that! :P Sounds like it could be a similar system to mine, (without looking at a link) is it something like a falcon roll up module, in a blue box a little wider than a pack o fags??

You can place the module in a safe place from the elements either in the foot-well under the beeping stuff, or at the end of the dash under the end panel obscured by the closed drivers door...?!!

Run the wires for the drivers & passenger side along the loom into the drivers door to the master window control loom... (I was doing loom repair anyway at the time!) Solder all connections...!!

Are you fitting an alarm/remote central looking unit as well?? Don't tell me what make on an open forum..
All in all you will be (& it can be done.) adding 6 more wires to the existing door loom.. 2 for the CL actuator, 4 for the windows.. Keeping the brain boxes somewhere in the cab!

Don't hesitate to pm me if you get stuck... :D
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

It was the Falcon rollup module I was looking into getting, however I emailed the supplier I was going to use and he said that the unit kept cutting out due to the current draw on the Bongo windows making the module think something was jammed in the window. However if you say you have one and all is good then I may give it a go...

I have seen other modules for cheaper. I guess they will just be a rebranded Falcon one.

I used different cheaper ones too... (Can't remember what they are but have the instructions somewhere.) One for the mirrors.. & one for the rear blind over the sliding door so it rolls up if down on opening.

They all work well fer me!!
