I have a half day and Annette has an early finish so we should be there by about 5 depending how long it takes to choose beer at the brewery

Haha, we are heading to Aviemore tomorrow and will be trying for a brewery tour in the afternoon. I reckon a few bottles of black gold will find their way into the bongo! Seems only right!

Fingers crossed the van will be back from the bodyshop by midday on Friday. All going well, we'll be up there hopefully by 4pm on Friday. Might be later.

Might be in a tent... [-o< [-o< [-o<

OK well we are going to try to get along as well (Geoff and Edna) for Friday thru to Monday, just trying to book at the moment but the link is rather slow (and no phone signal from Orange either) from the C&CC site on Skye and the Forest site web page won't let me book without a phone number - then won't let me enter a number as its grabbed the data from the C&CC database arghh....

Can the C&CC site owners not book it for you as it is a C&CC site? If not pm me your details and I'll book for you

Yes in the end we got the site to phone up for us - they can't book on line either as its a Forest site! So we will be there this evening, just heading off of Skye at the moment, then fill up and do some shopping hopefully be there late afternoon maybe in time for a Hardstanding ;-)

Oh well I wasn't going to offer for you to bunk up with us. But then you could sleep in the roof. More to the point how is the van?

Were looking good to go. \:D/

Phoned the site today, and got an answering machine. 8-[ I hate talking to those things.
They kindly got back in touch later in the day ( crawing in a tight space in a loft at the time  ) and said for me just to turn up and pay on site as i'm no taking leccy etc.

Started work early and worked my butt off today, so managed to complete a couple of tomorrows jobs. I should now be finished by lunch time, and hopefully on site late afternoon/early evening.....depending what time the chipper opens in Aviemore.

Well that was a lovely weekend in a stunning part of the country. Thanks to all who helped organise it, to Chrissie for the Stornoway black pudding on Sunday, to Paul & Annette for taking Chris on the bike ride, and to David for taking Hannah out in the canoe.

On a couple of previous tours I’ve wanted to go to Edzell castle & gardens near Brechin but we’ve always ran out of time – so this time I thought we’d make it first on the list. We left home about 11.30pm Wednesday in order to miss the traffic  I thought “We’ll just get past Glasgow” and then “we’ll just get past Perth” and then “we’ll just get past Dundee”.... we were at Edzell before it was properly light

Then on to the remains of Old Slains castle near Collieston....

....before moving on to the remains of New Slains castle at Cruden Bay....

....which has a chequered history but may yet be restored.

So we eventually pitched up on site 18 hours after leaving home

Did I mention that the site was a bit damp in places?

The shop was doing a brisk trade in anti-midge devices

Anyway, smoke is a good deterrent so let’s get breakfast on the go!!

Muzette wanted to go to the reindeer centre....

Meanwhile Muz Jr went on a mountainbike ride with The Gordons – thanks Paul & Annette....

They went around Loch Morlich, through the Glenmore Forest and down Gleann Einich to Loch Einich – about a 30 mile round trip.

Muzette then blagged a go in David’s canoe

Muzette then decided we’d take the easy way up Cairn Gorm
