Re: Breakdown Insurance
It says motorhomes & campervans but in the blurb it says "Cover for cars, vans, and motorcycle up to 3.5 tonnes (excluding any vehicles with living accommodation)." - how does that work with a converted Bongo?

Re: Breakdown Insurance
Its the usual "Cut & Paste" error, the heading at the top says;
Isn't it 2gether who also are now closing insurances if you don't have a CAT1 alarm http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 04#p537604
The text under the "deal with Bongo Fury" says;2gether motor breakdown covers all cars, vans, motorcycles and motorhomes including campervans up to 3500 kg GVW and not exceeding 27feet. 2gether can offer a bespoke solution if you fall out of this criteria.
Whoever did the web page didn't proofread it! But it still needs clarificationCover for cars, vans, and motorcycle up to 3.5 tonnes (excluding any vehicles with living accommodation).

Re: Breakdown Insurance
I asked them about that this morning, and they said that wasn't the case, except in a few postcode areas with high theft rates.g8dhe wrote:Isn't it 2gether who also are now closing insurances if you don't have a CAT1 alarm http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 04#p537604

Re: Breakdown Insurance
I need UK & Europe breakdown, this looks good apart from the 1 hour labour costs? Is this normal?

AA .. RAC ... No charge for labour at the roadside. ...????Poohbear wrote:Why, what else did you expect?
JAL Mushroom roof,12/240v, fridge, cooker, sink, LPG V6 .. (written off @ £5500 Nov 2016)
Re: Breakdown Insurance
I'm not sure what to expect, which is why I'm asking.
I will be travelling round Europe for 2 months and I didn't know if the limit on labour time is an issue.
AA quoted £265 for EU cover and £77 for UK.
I guess it's a gamble if I go for the 'budget' option.

Re: Breakdown Insurance
bump....
was going to start a new topic. But as this is here, does anyone have any recommendations on European breakdown cover?
What is the most comprehensive cover for the worst case scenario?
AA full european cover with zone 2 which includes france, spain, italy etc is £394.41
Any other options?

Re: Breakdown Insurance
Thank you kind sir
As I feared, the bongo I am looking at purchasing is 16years old this year

Re: Breakdown Insurance
This 2gether insurance looks really interesting. Till now I've been covered by Europassist for foreign trips, and AutoAid for UK recovery. Europassist has just sent a very nice letter saying how desolated they are that they can no longer provide cover as the Bongo (actually a Freda) is now ancient history (over 16) and too old to rock.
I looked at the link and there is no apparent age limit on 2gether. Can anyone confirm this?
Cheers
