Rear Wheelarches in Bradford

Rear Wheelarches in Bradford
Just had the rusting rear arches on my Bongo repaired, painted and resealed. Took a week to do but is a brilliant job and has restored Amy to her former glory.
I can highly recommend Michael at Napoleon Garage on Wakefield Road.

Re: Rear Wheelarches in Bradford
I need to get some rust on mine sorted soon. Could you give me an idea of the work done and the costs involved?
You can PM me if you don't want to post details in public on the forum.
Many thanks,
Simon

Re: Rear Wheelarches in Bradford
Cost was around the £500 mark for both rear arches. It would depend on how bad the rust was though. Mine did not need any parts as, like yours, it had just started bubbling and we caught it early.
After 2 weeks in S France she needs a good clean but I will take some pics when she has had her bath.

Re: Rear Wheelarches in Bradford
Thanks for the info - Any ideas on rust prevention for the arches?

Re: Rear Wheelarches in Bradford
Only that a full waxoil injection was done when the work was finished. Smells quite strong for a week or two so don't have it done just prior to camping.
Pics hopefully available later today.

Waxoyl is great stuff .
The bit that worries me is killing the rust first ( unless it has been completely cut out)
The only process which has worked for me in the past is blasting metal followed immediately by zinc priming but that is impractical on panels in situ
