Does anyone know a half decent campsite within 30 miles of Longleat?
I ordered a ticket for the Red Bull Air Race without really looking how to get to Longleat. Having now done that, I can't see my kids being too happy at probably six hours sitting in traffic and travelling, so have decided to try and find somewhere nearer for the weekend. So, if you have any recommendations please pass them on.
Is anyone else going by the way?

I stayed here recently with my grandson.. It is very quiet but the lakes are lovely and the boating on the lake is brilliant for the kids.the site is well maintained and very friendly. About 15 miles to Longleat

Longleat camp site
The site at Longleat is lovely - you can hear the lions roaring at night and everything is immaculate. Can be pricey in high season, though. A word of warning - DO NOT take yer bongo into the monkey area. The little sods will trash it. They seem to have a particular liking for anything rubber, so wiper blades, window seals, free top seals etc., get chewed up. My sister had to rescued by the warden. No big deal as she's only got a VW Trident.
