power steering fluid

Post by ChrisQ » Thu Feb 14, 2013 5:10 pm

Is this the same as the ATF fluid used in the gearbox?
Can't find any info on it in the tech sheets on the members pages, or by searching
Is there a recommended changing period ( either based on time or mileage) as with gearbox fluid and brake fluid ?

I've just done the gearbox & have some ATF fluid spare, so looking at changing the steering fluid if it's compatable

Thanks in advance

Same fluid as in the auto box (I use Dexon3) .. just 'pull' out the old fluid from the power steering with a syringe .. old bike pump or syphon it out ..

Thanks for the confirmation.
Yes its Dexron 3 that I've got. Handy hint regarding syringe, as I have a 50ml one
