Re: Can you facelift a Bongo?!
I find this a bit weird because my last one (diesel ) was an 'S' reg 98 and it did not have the same heater/air-con unit. Mine was the sliding/ knob twisting jobby?? If it were not for the AFT it looks identical to my new one and that a 2002???
sorry but either someone has had nothing else to spend their dosh on or me thinks there's a rabbit off somewhere.
I mean who spends all that money doing a up a 97 to look like a 2000+ when you could probably sell the old one and buy the real thing for the same if not less than the facelift

Me likee -- want on my 96 - dreams - looks really nice though
Can you buy that lower grill behind the number plate - I was looking at mine earlier today and was thinking makes the rad very vulnerable to impact from stones!

You can get the mesh from Halfords, or cheaper online and then cut it to shape with some tin snips. Did that on my last Bongo and it tidies up & protects the front end:

Thats what I call shiny Dave Are those wheels on BDC's 2nd pic Nissan wheels?
I wish mine wasn't white I miss the black paintwork to get a nice shine on. I might have to give mine a full colour change soon.

Do the later grilles fit straight onto the early models or do you need other parts as well?

Im not sure type of wheels they are Stu, he bought them from Wheelquick but i do know they had to be re-bored to fit the bongo.stuc wrote:Thats what I call shiny Dave Are those wheels on BDC's 2nd pic Nissan wheels?

The later grilles dont fit straight onto an older shape, you need the smaller pieces that go under the lights and the bumper is a slightly different shape.GreenBongo wrote:Do the later grilles fit straight onto the early models or do you need other parts as well?

You'll need: bumper, headlights (& wiring loom for the different connectors) and the two part metal trim below the headlights.GreenBongo wrote:Do the later grilles fit straight onto the early models or do you need other parts as well?
EDIT: wot Dave said really

Re: Can you facelift a Bongo?!
Is that the bumper including the metalwork? I need a new bumper and one of the metal bits from under the headlight anyway so I may go for a facelift.

All the parts bolt on, but you can't mix and match old and new so you would have to get all the parts.

Re: Can you facelift a Bongo?!
Just to mention the bull bars do not normally fit with the new shape front , not without a lot of cutting of the bumper and brackets to fit. (forgot I had to change the plug on the loom, not a big job)
