Leisure Battery queries i.e. plug in cool box etc

Post by markley » Mon Jun 23, 2014 8:46 pm

Hi all,
Queries looking for answers please.

Have got a 12V plug in cool box and wondered if this
runs off the leisure battery when the engine is off?

If not, is there any way it can be made to run off the
leisure battery without getting too complicated?

Leisure battery, what does this actually do when the engine
is off, just run the interior lights?

We have an unconverted Bongo.
Thanks in advance

Depends on what circuits the LB is connected to.

Ive connected mine to lights, blinds, 12v outlets, audio dvd surround system and all the items in the kitchen.

There is an easy way to find out what your LB is connected to.....disconnect you starter battery and see what still works.

Running a coolbox off the leisure battery will soon flatten the battery :( Unless you use the car each day, to charge the LB up, it is best not to use it for more than a couple of hours a day - 5-6 hours will often flatten the battery.
