Had that exact same problem too, but yes there was a bit prying & levering getting done. just elongated the holes to persuade it to fit back on. had to make the same notches too.Tessie wrote: the only problem I had was that one of the underneath bolt holes on the side plates didn't match up. However, this could have been my fault as I did a bit of banging and crowbarring before reading how others had done the job so I could have bent it out of shape. A little elongating of the hole soon solved the problem.
I reckon if doing it again I could knock off 2 hours.
